About Us

Our Beliefs:

• We believe that every child has the ability to learn, and learning is shaped by important people in a child's life. Most importantly, the primary care givers.  From a traditional child care center to home based care providers. We believe that each person is an individual who learns in different ways: through seeing, hearing, and/or doing. We include all three of these means within the trainings.
  
  
• We believe that children learn best through play, hands-on experiences, and by having role models that provide positive interactions.

About the Trainer

Connie Loyd Lawhorn

Connie's love of children has led her to a lifetime of enrichment and joy in working with kids and helping others who have that same passion. Connie graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Home Economics Education and Child Development. She received her master's degree from NCCU in Human Sciences with a concentration in Adult Learning and Child Development.

Connie has also taught high school Home Economics and early Childhood Education I and II at Bunn High School for over 9 years.  She has worked with the Franklin, Granville, and Vance Partnership for Children. Currently she is a Vance Granville Community College Instructor of Education and Child Development, and a High School Online Instructor with North Carolina Virtual Public School.
